Suzlon wins GACL order for Rajkot wind energy project

Suzlon Energy, India's biggest producer of wind power equipment, today said that it has bagged an order from Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd for setting up a wind energy project in the state.

The company has bagged a repeat order from GACL to set up, operate and maintain a 21 MW wind energy project in Rajkot district, Suzlon informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

"We take pride in our association with GACL and look forward to strengthening this relationship in future," Suzlon's president business development (India) I C Mangal said.

The project would comprise 14 units of 1.5 mw wind turbines, the BSE filing said. No financial details were disclosed.

The project, GACL's third with Suzlon, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010.
