The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport has been revealed in a picture released by the company ahead of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017) where it will make its debut.

The picture shows a sporty hatchback, which comes as the third from the family of the Suzuki Swift Sport. The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport has a more angular design than the new Swift, and had a number of unique features that give it an aggressive appeal.

The radiator grille which sports a distinctive pattern, appears bigger, both in length and width and has a honeycomb pattern outside the fog lamp enclosures.

At the front there is a back bumper lip spoiler while there are black rocker panels on the sides. While the alloy wheels are unique, the tyres are low-profile.

On the interior, the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport sports an all-black colour theme, stainless steel sport pedals, leather steering wheel and sport seats with contrast stitching and other features.

The vehicle will be powered by a new 1.4-litre turbocharged engine, an upgraded version of the Suzuki Vitara's K14C Boosterjet unit. The four-cylinder petrol powermill will reportedly deliver 150 PS at 5,500 rpm and 25.0 kgf.m (245.17 Nm) of torque from 1,500-4,000 rpm.

It had, however, not yet been announced officially whether the Swift Sport will be offered in India. According to commentators, though, the likelihood of the hatchback coming to India with the 1.4-litre motor was high.

According to commentators, there was now a new niche in the hot/warm hatchback segment with cars like the Fiat Abarth Punto, Volkswagen Polo GTI and Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. If Maruti Suzuki were to offer the Swift Sport at the right price it could be a leader in the segment.
