Sybase arm wins Asian innovation award

26 Aug 2002

Mumbai: Sybase, a leading enterprise infrastructure and integration company, has announced that its subsidiary, iAnywhere Solutions, a leading provider of mobile and wireless solutions that enable anywhere, anytime access to enterprise information, has won the Business Management Asia Innovation Awards 2002 in the m-commerce category.

Business Management Asia is a quarterly Asia business journal. Nominees of the awards were measured in terms of technology application, marketing and branding, recruitment and resources, and growth and expansion. Twenty-five companies, both regional and international, were nominated for these categories.

Sybase’s iAnywhere Solutions was nominated as one of 25 most Innovative Asian Companies in the m-commerce category and was selected as Readers’ Choice. BMA’s team of researchers in the UK carefully constructed the criteria for selection and a readership survey was conducted among Asia’s largest technology end-users, where they were asked to nominate their favourite vendors. The nominations were reviewed by an independent panel of judges and by the BMA editorial team to decide the overall winners.

Having led the global mobile database market for the fifth consecutive year since 1997, iAnywhere Solutions is positioned to be a one-stop source for m-business. iAnywhere expects to further enlarge its market share in the region, riding on its continual market share expansion in 2001 from 61 to 68 per cent.
