Sybase inaugurates its global Sybase professional services centre at Pune

Pune: Sybase Inc, the leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, has announced the inauguration of its Global Sybase Professional Services (SPS) Centre at Pune.

Sybase aims to to reinforce its focus on the Indian market, and says that the SPS will provide services to its customers ranging from out-tasking to outsourcing. The Centre was inaugurated by Tony Morrison, Sybase''s vice president for Sybase Professional Services.

The facility will offer a comprehensive portfolio of onsite and offshore managed IT Services to help customers optimise global talent availability, and to manage their overall costs.

According to Morrison, "Our entire service portfolio provides access to an exceptional knowledge base and is backed by our commitment to ensure customer success with Sybase products. With the commitment to the Indian market, both as a market and as a resource base, Sybase is significantly spreading its wings in the western region. Through SPS, Sybase reiterates its presence in the Indian subcontinent by building business value to its customers", added Morrison.

The centre has a 52 member team with an edge over various Sybase products like Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE), Sybase Replication server, Sybase IQ, PowerBuilder, Workspace, EA Server, etc. Besides the IT set-up services, the center also proffers consulting and education services for its customers in India.

Talking about expansion plans, Nagendra Devariya Arkalgud, director, SPS, said, "SPS plans to increase its staff in Pune to 100 by the third quarter of next year, and also plans to provide services like monitoring, maintaining, tuning and managing production environments of a number of our customers worldwide through Remote Enterprise Management Outsourcing (REMO) and Application Development & Maintenance Outsourcing (ADMO)".
