Sybase opens India software development centre at Pune

Mumbai: Sybase Software (India) Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Sybase, Inc (NYSE:SY), today inaugurated its India development centre at Pune. The centre was inaugurated by Kiran Karnik, president NASSCOM, at a function held at the new facility.
The centre will employ about 250 top professionals, developing cutting edge software, including Sybase''s core data management and data warehousing products for the global market.
Sybase, founded in 1984, is one of the largest independent software vendors delivering end-to-end solutions for unwired enterprise. The centre will be part of the global network of development centres across the world that work on development of leading edge Sybase products.
According to Raj Nathan, senior vice president of the information technology solutions group, Sybase, Inc, "Sybase is planning to develop products of the future from the Pune facility. This Centre will also get involved in enhancing some of our existing products. With our new development centre, we hope to attract some of the best talent in the country."
