Tata Communications introduces 'global VPN extended access" service in over 150 countries

The NYSE-listed Tata Communications has launched a new global VPN extended access service (EAS). This new cost-effective solution extends VPN access to customer sites that do not require dedicated links as well as those located in hard-to-reach geographies. EAS complements Tata Communications Global VPN Service to provide an integrated solution that addresses the full range of customers' communications needs.

With coverage in more than 150 countries – virtually everywhere around the globe – customers can now integrate even their most remote locations into a single VPN, without compromising on security or managing a multitude of different vendors.

"Tata Communications Global VPN Extended Access Service, backed by industry-leading SLAs gives our customers a new option that simplifies management of a far-reaching corporate VPN," said Genius Wong, senior vice president, global IP and VPN Services.

"We are committed to offering managed services that leverage our global IP reach and enable our customers of all sizes to deploy efficient, optimized solutions," Wong added.

The nw EAS leverages features of multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), IP security (IPSec) and virtual network operator (VNO) connect access services to provide a managed IPSec access to the nearest IPSec gateway, thereby integrating the site with the customer's VPN for a seamless, secure solution.

This service also provides the ability to create multiple independent virtual private networks in conjunction with its Multi-VPN service. Customers can map any EAS site to any of its VPNs to enable partner or extranet applications.

For non-India based sites, service also includes the procurement and management of the Broadband Internet Access. Customers save on time and money through unified ordering, billing and trouble resolution for the entire solution, allowing them to focus on their core business.

"Global businesses require high-speed connectivity to give partner locations or satellite offices secure, cost-effective access to business applications," said Claude Sassoulas, Managing Director, Wholesale Data and Enterprise – Europe. "This service enables our customers to outsource their global VPN to a single, trusted partner, decreasing management requirements and discovering cost efficiencies."
