05 Feb 2013

Tata Consulting Engineers has acquired Ecofirst Services, a joint venture between Milestone Capital Advisors Ltd and J. Leon Group (UK), making it an wholly-owned subsidiary.

TCE is a subsidiary of Tata Sons, the holding company for all Tata group firms.

Ecofirst provides design consultancy in sustainability solutions for the building environment. TCE provides engineering consultancy services in key industry sectors such as primarily energy, utilities, construction, steel and metals and mining and minerals.

However, financial terms of the acquisition were not divulged.

''We have made a mark as a prominent engineering solutions provider with prestigious projects within India and globally. Ecofirst will play a key role in helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals,'' said J P Haran, managing director, TCE.

The TCE-Ecofirst combine will create thought leadership in sustainable development, create niche services in infrastructure, real estate, construction and others, drive natural resource conservation with green technologies, spearhead sustainability through greenfield projects and migrate existing environments to sustainable platforms through brownfield projects in a cost-effective manner, TCE said in a statement.
