Tata Docomo and RIM launch BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve 8900 Smartphones

Tata Teleservices' GSM brand Tata Docomo launched its blackberry service in India with its BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve 8900 offerings on Thursday.

The company said it partnered with Research in Motion (RIM) for the introduction of the BlackBerry phones on its platform.

The company would offer two plans for BlackBerry data service 'Do 299' and BlackBerry 'Do 899' for which the user would need to subscribe to separate voice plans.

'Do 299' offers unlimited data usage for email and instant messaging while 'Do 899' offers unlimited data usage for internet, e-mail and instant messaging access.

BlackBerry smartphones and services provide customers with easy wireless access to e-mail, phone,calendar, internet browsing and multimedia applications, as well as access to thousands of mobile business and lifestyle applications.

Announcing the launch of the BlackBerry solution for Tata Docomo customers, Deepak Gulati, president, Tata Docomo, said, ''Tata Docomo is a young brand that recently rolled out GSM services across eight circles within a span of 45 days and has received an enthusiastic response. When we launched our GSM services, we had promised our subscribers that we would bring to them the best products and services.
