Tata Group in pact with Singapore Management University

Mumbai: The Tata group will collaborate with Singapore Management University (SMU) in research, internships and executive education. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by R Gopalakrishnan, executive director of Tata Sons and Howard Hunter, president, SMU.

"The association presents a wide spectrum of opportunities in areas of internship, employment, management research and executive education," said Gopalakrishnan, adding that the 'wide cultural mix' of Singapore "provides a window to the group to work with diversity in a very operational sense."

"The opportunity to collaborate with the Tata group will be invaluable to our students and our faculty and will provide them with connection to one of the most highly-regarded corporate organisations in the world," said SMU president Howard Hunter.

SMU is modelled after the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in the US.
