Tata Motors global sales rise 46 per cent to 91,608 vehicles in June

Global sales of the Tata Motors group rose 46 per cent year-on-year to 91,608 vehicles in June 2010. Cumulative sales in the fiscal first quarter (April-June 2010) stood at 249,322 units, up 50 per cent from the corresponding period in 2009-10.

The Tata Motors group comprises Tata Motors in India, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with distributed brands in India, and its acquired UK brands Jaguar and Land Rover.

Total commercial vehicle sales rose 38 per cent to 39,975 units in June 2010 while cumulative sales so far in the current fiscal (April-June 2010) rose 41 per cent to 111,298 units.

Passenger vehicle sales rose 53 per cent to 51,633 units in June 2010 while cumulative sales in April-June 2010 rose 58 per cent to 138,024 units.

Tata passenger vehicle sales, including those distributed, rose 58 per cent to 31,444 units in June 2010 while cumulative sales in the fiscal first quarter rose 57 per cent to 80,871 units.

Tata Motors sold 20,189 Jaguar Land Rover vehicles world over in June 2010, up 47 per cent from the year-ago period. Jaguar sales for the month were up 56 per cent at 6,776 units while Land Rover sales rose 41 per cent to 13,413 units. Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal first quarter were up 59 per cent at 57,153 units.
