Tata Motors' global sales up 39 per cent at 101,712 vehicles in March

Tata Motors Group, which markets a range of commercial vehicles like the Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera, Tata passenger vehicles along with distributed brands in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover, sold 101,712 units in March 2010, a growth of 39 per cent over March 2009.

Cumulative sales for the fiscal (April-March 2009-2010) was up 19 per cent at 872,951 compared to the corresponding period in 2008-09.

Total commercial vehicle sales rose 53 per cent to 47,936 units in March 2010 while cumulative sales for the fiscal increased 37 per cent to 413,057 units.

Total passenger vehicle sales rose 28 per cent to 53,776 units in March 2010. Cumulative sales for the fiscal rose 6 per cent to 459,894 units.

Tata passenger vehicle sales, including those distributed, rose 18 per cent to 30,238 units in March while cumulative sales in the fiscal rose 24 per cent to 265,912 units.

Global sales of Jaguar Land Rover rose 43 per cent to reach 23,538 vehicles in March 2010. Jaguar sales rose 8 per cent to 4,642 units in March, while Land Rover sales were up 55 per cent at 18,896 units.
