Tata Motors launches LPG version of Indica V2 Xeta

Tata Motors has launched the dual-fuel Indica V2 Xeta LPG. The Indica V2 Xeta LPG is equipped with a dual-fuel engine that on start runs on petrol and automatically switches over to LPG, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 10 per cent, while delivering excellent fuel efficiency both in the city and on highways.

The new Xeta LPG comes with a 1.2-litre multi-point fuel injection (MPFI) engine with two electronic control units (ECU) in master-slave configuration. It generates a maximum power of 65.3 PS @ 5000 rpm with petrol and even when switching over to LPG, there is no appreciable loss of power with a maximum delivery of 62 PS @ 5000 rpm.

The peak torque of 102Nm @2600 rpm is adequate for a smooth drive in city conditions. The engine meets Bharat Stage III (BSIII) emission norms, but can be upgraded to meet Euro IV norms.

The new Xeta dual-fuel LPG ensures a smooth transition between the two fuel modes, even on the move. The electronically controlled gas MPFI sequential injection system provides significant safety, performance and emission related advantages over competitive offerings.

The Xeta LPG will initially be launched in two variants - GLE and GLS. The Xeta LPG GLE variant (which comes with AC) is priced at Rs.3.27 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Xeta LPG GLS variant (which comes with AC, power steering, and body colored bumpers) is priced at Rs.3.42 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Xeta LPG variants will be available in a range of five colour options, at select showrooms across the country.
