Tata Motors sorts out compensation issue with Nano vendors

Tata Motors has said the differences with vendors over compensation issues arising from its decision to shift the Nano plant from Singur have been resolved.

According to Rajiv Dube, Tata Motors president (passenger car), the issues have been resolved with the companies internally and vendors lining up to put up their facilities in Sanand.

Dube was speaking to the media at a function showcasing the Indigo Manza in New Delhi.

Several component manufacturers had been reportedly seeking compensation from the company on apprehensions of huge losses, if they were relocate their units to Sanand in Gujarat, where the auto major is now setting up the world's cheapest car facility.

Dube however declined to disclose whether the vendors had been compensated financially or through some other arrangements in Sanand.

As regards the 997-acre land acquired in Singur for the project, he said the company was in discussion with the state government on the future course of action.
