Development of the Indian power sector
In 2014, the government had adopted an ambitious five-year programme to raise up to $250 billion to complete electrification of the country to sustain economic growth, improve living conditions for the poorest populations, and replace traditional fuels with electricity.

India needs additional capacity of 93 GW to meet the demand by 2022, and this will be generated through conventional and renewable sources with investments from both public sources and private investors.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated power company with a growing international presence. The Company together with its subsidiaries and jointly controlled entities has an installed gross generation capacity of 9184 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector.
