Tech Mahindra aquires Type Approval Lab of Sweden

Tech Mahindra Limited, a specialist provider of solutions and services to the telecommunications industry, has acquired lab assets and operations of Sweden-based Type Approval Lab, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition of the Lund, Southern Sweden-based lab is part of Tech Mahinda's efforts to provide end-to-end test solutions to device manufacturers and global carriers, the company said in a release.

Type Approval Lab, which was earlier Sony Mobile Communication's captive facility, will now help Tech Mahindra establish its first European test lab with multi-million dollar infrastructure.

The acquisition is in line with Tech Mahindra's plans to become a leading player in the test space and increase focus on Nordics region. Tech Mahindra along with its wholly owned subsidiary CanvasM Technology has already established state-of-the-art labs in India and the US.

CanvasM is one of the fastest growing global labs certifying more than 800 + devices so far has now established itself in Europe through this acquisition, according to Tech Mahindra.

The Lund facility will now provide us a strategic lab presence for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and for our customers looking to launch their products in the EU and rest of the world,'' Sirisha Voruganti, chief technology officer of CanvasM, said.

This acquisition will prove to be a key milestone for the European expansion plan and reinforces further its commitment to be a key player in this space, the company release added.
