Tech Mahindra Q4 net down 9 per cent at Rs206.5 crore

Tech Mahindra, the country's fifth largest software exporter, has reported a net profit of Rs206.5 crore for fiscal fourth quarter (January-March 2011) - down 9 per cent year-on-year and up 0.5 per cent quarter-over-quarter.

Revenue for the quarter at Rs1,261.5 crore, however, was up 6.6 per cent year-on-year and up 4.2 per cent quarter-over-quarter. Full year revenue was up 11.1 per cent at Rs5,140.2 crore.

Operating profit (EBIDTA) at Rs259.0 crore was down 7.1 per cent year-on-year and up 3.7 per cent quarter-over-quarter.

Earnings per share (EPS) was Rs7.39 for the quarter ended 31 March 2011

Tech Mahindra's associate company Mahindra Satyam reported improved results during the quarter with operating margins improving from 6.4 per cent in third quarter of FY11 to 13 per cent in the fourth quarter of FY11. Mahindra Satyam also announced the successful settlement of the US class action suit at a cost of $125 million.

Including this exceptional cost, Mahindra Satyam reported a loss for the quarter. Tech Mahindra's PAT, including share of associate company's loss of Rs114.4 crore for the quarter was at Rs92.1 crore.
