Tektronix launches Ethernet compliance test software

By Our Convergence Bureau | 10 Jan 2003

Chennai: The US-based Tektronix (www.tektronix.com), an oscilloscope major, has announced the industry’s most comprehensive Ethernet compliance-test software for use with its high-performance digital oscilloscopes.

With the emergence of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and its 10-fold increase in data rates, Ethernet compliance testing is now more complex and not readily possible using standard test and measurement tools. Until now, the stopgap methodology relied on human intervention in the testing process, which can affect the repeatability and reliability of the testing.

With Tektronix’ TDSET2 Ethernet compliance-test software, coupled with the superior signal fidelity of the TDS6000 and TDS/CSA7000 series oscilloscopes, networking equipment designers now, for the first time, have the tool they need to ensure their product’s compliance to all three electrical (10Base-T, 100Base-T, and 1000Base-T) Ethernet standards.

This software gives them the ability to automatically perform the widest range of compliance tests available.
