Toyota to recall 18,757 cars in Russia over faulty braking systems

Japanese carmaker Toyota has announced a voluntary recall of 18,757 cars in Russia over faulty braking systems.
The Russian division of Toyota will recall Lexus NX 200, NX 200t and NX 300h cars sold after 11 September 2014, Russian standards agency Rosstandart yesterday said in a statement.
The latest recall in Russia comes two months after Toyota recalled 2,198 vehicles over faulty fuel pipes and five months after it recalled 139,604 RAV4 crossovers over faulty seat belts.
In recent years, Toyota has been at the centre of endless safety issues, resulting in recalls and litigation, over unintended acceleration, brake safety problems and Takata-supplied defective airbags.
The total number of recalls made due to Takata-supplied faulty airbags is around 69 million cars in the US alone, while global estimates show over 100 million cars.
All global carmakers were affected by this massive recalls, including cars sold by Honda, Ford, Mitsubishi, Toyota, BMW, Tesla, Mercedes, General Motors, Audi, Nissan, Volkswagen, McLaren, and even Ferrari.
