UIDAI appoints Percept/H as Aadhaar's creative agency

The Nandan Nilekani-headed Unique Identification Authority of India has appoointed Percept/H to handle the creative duties for Aadhaar, its ambitious initiative to allot every Indian with an unique numeral identification.

The agencies in fray for the post were Rediffusion Y&R, Dentsu Marcom, Lowe Lintas, Crayons Advertising, Concept Communication, Span Communications and Percept/H.

The pilot phase for the project will begin in August and carry on till February 2011.

Percept/H's role is to popularise Aadhaar across the country and generate buzz around the initiative through marketing and advertising activities.

Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity will handle the media end of the campaign for print, audio and video segments.

Percept/H, the flagship advertising agency of Percept Limited, is a 50:50 joint venture between Percept and Japan's Hakuhodo Inc.
