Vento talks its way to the best advertising award at ET-ZigWheels awards

Volkswagen Vento's talking newspaper campaign has won it the Best Automotive Advertising campaign at the ET-ZigWheels awards.

The campaign had involved German automaker placing a pressure-sensitive device in English dailies, The Times of India and The Hindu, which played a pre-recorded message about the Vento to the readers.

The Vento also won the Premium Compact Sedan of the Year while Skoda's Yeti was adjudged the best SUV of the year besides bagging the Best Design of the Year award.

Ford Figo added to its award tally by winning three awards at the ZigWheels awards including the Car of the Year, Premium Hatchback and the zigwheels.com Viewers' Choice Car of the Year.

Figo, launched in March 2010, is the largest-selling vehicle for Ford in India. ''This last year has been a terrific one for Ford in India,'' said Michael Boneham, president and MD, Ford India.

Japanese bike manufacturer, Yamaha's SZ-X won 150cc Commuter Motorcycle of the Year and the zigwheels.com Viewers' Choice Bike of the Year award while Hero Honda was adjudged the bike manufacturer of the year.
