Venu Srinivasan receives honorary doctorate from University of Warwick, UK

Warwickshire, UK: Venu Srinivasan, chairman and managing director, TVS Motor Company, one of India''s leading two-wheeler manufacturing companies, was conferred with a doctorate in science by the United Kingdom''s University of Warwick at a ceremony held at the University campus. Srinivasan personally received the honorary doctorate from vice chancellor David VandeLinde along with other achievers in their respective fields.

The University of Warwick conferred this recognition on Srinivasan for his excellence in manufacturing and contribution to the field of technology and research and development. It is under his leadership that TVS Motor Company has emerged a leading manufacturer of two wheelers in the world competing against global two-wheeler giants.

After completing his engineering studies from Madras University, Srinivasan earned his MBA from Purdue University (USA) in 1977, and took over as the chief operating officer of Sundaram Clayton in 1979, the parent company of TVS Motor Company. TVS Motor Company was born in 1979 and rapidly grew into one of India''s leading corporations under his leadership.
