Veritas announces Windows data protection solution SMEs

Bangalore: Veritas Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS) today announced its Windows data protection and outlined a comprehensive strategy for small and medium-size businesses to protect, recover, manage and safeguard data. During a press conference in Bangalore today, Agendra Kumar, country manager, Veritas Software announced the launch of an integrated suite of software aimed at providing companies with continuous Windows data protection.

Veritas is one of the top 10 largest software companies in the world, and is a leading provider of software and services to enable utility computing. In utility computing IT resources are aligned with business needs, and business applications are delivered with optimal performance and availability on a shared computing infrastructure, minimising hardware and labour costs.

Kumar said that Veritas had over two million installations worldwide. He said, "Through our pioneering efforts in developing and delivering solutions that are tightly integrated with Windows, we are setting the Gold Standard in Windows data protection and enabling customers to cost-effectively protect, recover and manage their data."

Microsoft has standardised on Veritas Backup Exec since 1999 to back up its own data.
