Hyderabad: Boston-based Virtusa Corporation has announced that it has bagged a Pegasystems Partner Excellence Award at Pegasystems' annual customer and partner conference, PegaVISION 2003.

Virtusa, a Pegasystems Alliance Program Services partner, was presented with a Partner Excellence Award for the Most Innovative Implementation of Pegasystems software. The conference, held recently at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, showcased the latest trends in business process management (BPM) and business rules technology.

The Partner Excellence Award for the Most Innovative Implementation of Pegasystems software is given to a partner that has implemented Pegasystems software for an end-user customer in a new industry or in a distinguishing way. Selection criteria included evaluation of the degree of complexity in the underlying business process automation and level of integration with other solutions.

"Over the past year, Virtusa has partnered with us to help deliver the benefits of our smart BPM solutions to the marketplace through their innovative implementation of a solution built on PegaRULES Process Commander. We are excited to honour them with this award," says Pegasystems vice-president (global marketing) Samir Gulati. "Virtusa is a thought leader in the IT outsourcing industry and we are proud to work with them."

The Pegasystems account at Virtusa is currently being serviced from its Hyderabad and Colombo Advanced Technology Centres. John Gillis, Virtusa's executive vice-president, accepted the award on behalf of Virtusa at the PegaVISION awards ceremony.

"We want to thank Pegasystems for honouring us with this award," says Gillis. "This award is further confirmation of the value we can deliver to our clients, through innovative use of Pegasystems technology. I like to thank the hard-working efforts of our employees that help differentiate us from the competition."
