Vodafone allows users in Delhi numbers of their choice

Vodafone customers in Delhi and NCR can now choose the numeric combination of their choice for their mobile numbers, PTI reported.

Both pre-paid and post-paid customers can avail of the facility.

''Customers can approach any of the 52 stores, 212 mini stores and over 40,000 multi-brand outlets, from where they buy the new connections, for the availability of the desired combination,'' Vodafone said in a statement.

According to a Vodafone official, for post-paid customers, the first four digits are fixed by the company while the rest of the combination can be chosen by customers.

For pre-paid customers, the first the first five digits are fixed.

''Our customer research also indicates that there is a deep interest amongst mobile users to have numbers aligned with some significant event in their lives,'' Vodafone India business head (Delhi and NCR) Apoorva Mehrotra said.

According to Vodafone India, it had invested Rs1,11,000 crore in the country since its entry in 2007.

The company now plans to invest an additional Rs 13,000 crore for capacity augmentation and new business initiatives.
