Vodafone India to launch 16th all-women store in Kerala

GSM operator Vodafone India says it will launch its 16th all-women store, Angel Store, in Kerala on March 8 2013, to commemorate the International Women's Day.

At present, the operator has 15 Angel Stores that are fully operational across the country.

The Angel retail stores  are completely managed and run by women employees.

The telecom operator said the initiative was in line with Vodafone's commitment to encourage diversity and inclusion at workplace by creating suitable opportunities for its employees, enabling them to maximise their potential.

''We strongly believe that economic empowerment of women is a great building block in social development. At Vodafone India, we have always put great emphasis on equal rights and opportunities for our employees and our policies encourage women employees to aspire for and achieve their career ambitions,'' Vodafone India 0managing director and CEO Marten Pieters said.

''The Angel stores are a part of Vodafone's commitment to provide our women employees with one of the most secure and productive work environment. Additionally, our women customers feel more welcomed while visiting the store. Going forward, we will continue to expand the Vodafone Angel Store network across more locations,'' he added.

Vodafone said its Angel Stores are present across 13 locations including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Shillong, Bhubaneshwar, Jaipur and Agra among others.
