Volkswagen launches upgraded Jetta priced Rs13.70 onwards

German car maker Volkswagen today launched an upgraded version of premium sedan Jetta in India, that is available (ex-showroom Delhi) in the price range of Rs13.70-19.43 lakh.

Volkswagen passenger cars managing director, Arvind Saxena told PTI the company was sure that the new Jetta, with its range of petrol and diesel engine options would offer a delightful driving experience for premium-segment car buyers in the Indian market.

With the festive season underway, Volkswagen now boasted a full line-up of new and updated cars for the Indian market, starting from new versions of the Polo, Cross Polo, Polo GT TSI and Polo GT TDI, Vento TSI and the new Jetta, he added.

The updated version of Jetta comes with a number of new features including Xenon headlamps with headlamp washers, LED daytime running lights as also new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The vehicle's other features include dual-zone climatronic AC, 12-way electrically adjustable driver's seat and 60:40 folding rear seat.

The Jetta also features cruise control and Bluetooth-enabled music system. It comes with rear parking sensors and safety features include six airbags, ABS and ESP, Overdrive reports.

The Jetta continues to be powered by 122PS/200Nm 1.4TSI and 140PS/320Nm 2.0TDI engines and the transmission options six-speed manual and six-speed DSG also remain the same. The petrol Jetta offers only manual transmission, while the diesel version can also be ordered with the optional automatic gearbox.

The Jetta takes on the Skoda Octavia, Renault Fluence, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla Altis in its category in the Indian market.

According to Saxena, with Volkswagen's acclaimed engineering expertise, the company was able to build some of the most comfortable, safe, fuel-efficient and performance-oriented luxury sedans, which offer outstanding power delivery and driving dynamics.
