India's leading software firm, Wipro Technologies, has set up an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Competency Centre in Bangalore where over 30 e-business architects will create an architecture that will support legacy to web integration.

For this, Wipro has selected Sun's Forte Fusion™ application integration suite to provide its customers with end-to-end e-Business solutions, since the company believes that business process automation and data or application level integration are the real key attributes of e-enabling organisations.

The Forte Fusion EAI suite, with its support for platforms spanning desktops to mainframes, allows integrated business processes to be deployed across multiple application systems, providing a basis for creating effective e-commerce solutions.

Wipro, whose enterprise software services are in the areas of integration and implementation of e-commerce systems, ERP, supply chain management and web application security, is expected to leverage the Forte products in its e-business consulting engagements, helping clients attract, win, retain and service customers online..

According to Mr. V. Ramkumar, chief executive of the e-enabling solutions division of the company, the Forte products could address both, the integration and development needs, of the company, including XML, business process management, application and technology adapters, and enterprise-level capabilities.

The Forte Fusion software essentially combines a market leading business process engine with integrated development facilities and a native HTTP messaging backbone. Data integration is based on an innovative use of XML with XSL-based data mapping and transformation. Package adapters are provided for many popular applications, together with an Adapter SDK for custom applications.
