Yamaha launches commuter bike YBR 110

India Yamaha Motor Private Limited launched its latest offering the YBR 110 motorcycle in the India on Saturday.

"After successfully launching our bikes in the 150cc segment, we have now launched a commuter motorcycle YBR 110 which is stylish and has good ergonomics for comfortable day-to-day commuting. We have been studying the entry level market and wanted to launch a new bike at an affordable price and that would give satisfactory mileage," Yamaha Motor zonal business head (south) of the company Roy Kurian told reporters in Hyderabad after the launch.

The YBR 110 is targeted at the middle income class people who want to own a stylish and comfortable commuter bike, he said. He added that the company was targeting youngsters and middle class commuters.

"Like other Yamaha bikes, YBR 110 carries Yamaha DNA of performance, innovation and design. We are confident that we will replicate the success of our premium segment bikes with the launch of all new YBR 110 motorcycle YBR 100 in the entry level space," he added.
The bike comes in three colours and is priced Rs41,730.

The company also announced it planned to make India its export hub.

Yamaha is now planning to take up manufacture of the company's global models in India for export to international markets.

The company said it had the necessary infrastructure to manufacture premium and deluxe bikes for overseas markets from India. Yamaha added that there existed a huge demand in both bike segments.

Yamaha India currently exports a couple of models including YZF-R15 and FZ series to markets like Colombia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Kenya, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
