24 Aug 2010

It is CAT time again with the announcement of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2010 dates between 27 October and 24 November.

The all-India test to screen students for entry into the prestigious, Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) is considered as the gateway to a successful management career in the corporate sector in India. Performance at the CAT and the group discussions and personal interviews that follow, form the basis for admission into the post-graduate management programme of the institutes.

Not surprisingly therefore candidates who wish to take a crack at the CAT, besides study, have a lot to take care of including nervousness, tension and self doubt.

This time around the the IIMs and exam organisers, Prometric will make available to aspirants a number of short video clips called 'preparatory resources for candidates' which will help candidates familiarise themselves with the registration and scheduling process, test day procedures and other aspects of the exam.

The video clips which will be available on the CAT website will go a long way in easing the stress associated with the test it is hoped.

According to Soumitro Roy, Prometric MD, every candidate has the right to proper registration for CAT and feel confident about the administration and evaluation of the test. He adds that the company would encourage aspirants to view the clips as they prepare for the exam.
