IIMs’ CAT fails test of integrity

01 Dec 2009

CAT aspirants had to put up with problems for the third day in a row across the country as the online common admission test servwers could not handle the load.

At Nagpur, the exam was cancelled at one of the labs at Shrimati Bhagwati Chaturvedi College of Engineering, while at St Vincent Palloti College and Priyadarshini College of Engineering, the exam went off without a hitch, but with some minor hiccups.

However, what was shocking was that the same questions were set despite assurances by the IIM authorities that the paper sets would not be repeated.

Faculty from coaching classes that tracked the IIM question papers said that their students reported the same set of question papers which were asked for the first two days had been repeated.

Criticising the officials conducting the examination, they said no one seemed serious about the career of students and those responsible were just passing the buck.

They say the IIMs were blaming Prometric, which was blaming some virus, while none appeared to care for the career of students.
