IIT-incubated ThinkLABS to offer learning camps on robotics for Mumbai kids

29 Oct 2010

ThinkLABS Technosolutions has launched a hands-on learning camp based on robotics and virtual robotics for school children in Mumbai.

With the camp, ThinkLABS aims to introduce children to robotics and virtual robotics, which will help students understand the principles of science, technology and mathematics in an interactive manner.

The camp will be held between 30 October to 13 November at Reliance World stores across 5 locations including Juhu, Mulund, Powai, Borivali and Opera House.

Robocamp, designed keeping the academic curricula in mind, will showcase demonstrations and will provide hands-on robot building sessions to create robots like scorpion, gripper, soccer playing robot, line follower, obstacle avoiding robot, and others.

The virtual robotics camp will enable children to create their own PC game, using the principles of human-machine interaction and animation.

Participants of Robocamp will also be eligible to enter the national robotics competition (TRICKS) to be held at IIT Bombay, which offers a chance to win a trip to NASA.

Robocomp Junior and Robocomp Virtu is open for students in classes IV to VI, while Robocomp Senior and Robocomp Advance Senior is for students in classes VII to XII.

ThinkLABS Technosolutions was founded by IIT-Bombay graduate and techpreneur Gagan Goyal in 2006. It focuses on engineering college students and graduates and offers short term and long term career oriented training programs in the field of embedded system and robotics.
