Survey ranks IIM-A among top 39 elite management school

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has emerged among the world's top 39 elite management institutes, according a report by QS Global Business School Report states. The listing by www.TopMBA.com categorised business schools on the basis of employer recognition into 'elite global', 'emerging global', 'elite regional' and 'emerging regional'.

According to the report , B-school graduates from India are the world's most academically distinguished.

Students from IIM Bangalore (780) and IIM Ahmedabad (767) scored more in the GMAT exam as against their US (Stanford (730) and European (INSEAD 704) counterparts, according to the report.

The report was based on 4,318 responses from recruiters, which made it the largest survey of its kind.

The ratings based on inputs from 3,300 employers who regularly hire MBAs provided an overview of top business schools around the world.

IIM(A), IIM(B), ISB, Indian School of Business, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, have made it to the top 10 in Asia Pacific category.

According to the QS Global 200 Business Schools Report, the Asian management institutes had shown an improvement.

According to commentators, the quality of MBA graduates from certain schools in the region is now being increasingly recognised by employers.

The maximum scores for employer recognition region wise identified Harvard and Stanford (North America), INSEAD and London Business School (Europe), and INSEAD (Asia-Pacific) as leading institutes in their respective regions.

Harvard tops five of the 10 subjects, with INSEAD; Kellogg; MIT Sloan; Stanford and Wharton topping the others.
