Mumbai: To celebrate the fourth anniversary of its involvement in the world motorbike championships, Safilo, main sponsor of the LCR team, has decided to change outfit and take to the tracks dressed in a brand name that has gone down in the history of many different sports — Carrera.

Carrera means 'race', and never before has a name been so fitting: sport, energy, adrenaline are concepts on which Carrera has always concentrated its efforts. The company works towards improving the technology of its products, and as a consequence, the performance of its sportsmen. So the partnership formed between the motorbike world and Carrera comes as no surprise.

For the third straight year, the Safilo Group is investing its resources in the professionalism and experience of the team led and managed by Lucio Cecchinello who, after the gratifying results achieved last year, has decided to retire from racing to dedicate himself exclusively to the team and its riders.

Like last year, this season's GP racing champions insist on the protection offered by Safilo glasses, becoming themselves testimonials of the Carrera Race line. Each will have their own personal model in their respective team colours: yellow for Max Biaggi, red for Loris Capirossi, and metallic grey for Marco Melandri and Carlos Checa.
