Mumbai: To enable the people in smaller towns to place calls to America @ Rs. 1.60 per minute and many other countries at reasonable rates, World Phone Internet Services (WPISPL) — one of the significant players in internet telephony solutions, has announced a strategic tie-up with India's leading portal, Rediff.com, for making its extremely popular VoIP international calling cards, World Phone 'premium', available to end users at the doorstep at no extra cost. World Phone is also in talks with the major distributors and retail chains in different states to expand its physical reach to end users even in the far flung areas of the country.

According to Aditya Ahluwalia, chairman, World Phone, "We are ramping up our distribution network around the country but at the same time we don't want to make our potential customers in the smaller towns wait till we identify the right distribution partner in their cities. Our association with Rediff will enable us to reach out to such customers and provide them with quality international calling experience," he added.

As per the agreement, Rediff will make World Phone's popular VoIP calling card , World Phone 'premium', available to its visitors on its site. Available in denominations of Rs250, Rs500 and Rs1,000, a user can order by logging on to the site www.rediff.com and the card would be delivered directly at home without any extra delivery charges. Buyers also have the option to pay cash-on-delivery or through credit card. They do not have to pay any extra delivery charges and all the handling charges will be borne by World Phone.

Ahluwalia added, "World Phone is committed to making its superior quality international calling solutions available in every nook and corner of the country. With this tie up we will definitely broaden our reach and be able to cater to our customers in every big or small town," he added.

Launched in the capital early this month, World Phone premium cards will enable users to place international calls to more than 200 countries including US, UK, France, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, etc, with tariffs starting from Rs1.60 per minute.
