Wolfram research to demonstrate advances in technical computing during India Mathematica Tour 2010

Wolfram Research has announced plans today to give India's technical computing community a first-hand look at the powerful capabilities of Mathematica 7
during the India Mathematica Tour 2010.

The India Mathematica Tour is free and runs 23 September -9 October with stops in Chennai, Mumbai, Manipal, Karnataka, Bangalore, and Vellore. Attendees will experience the powerful advancements of Mathematica 7, including integrated image processing, parallel high-performance computing, and on-demand data.

The tour will also highlight Mathematica 7's impact on a wide range of fields, from engineering and finance to research and education.

Mathematica 7 accelerates the drive to integrate and automate functionality as core Mathematica capabilities, adding image processing, parallel high-performance computing (HPC), new on-demand curated data, and other recently developed computational innovations--in total over 500 new functions and 12 application areas. Mathematica 7 is available for Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Mac OS X, Linux x86, and Solaris UltraSPARC/x86.

Local experts will demonstrate Mathematica's exciting technologies and help both advanced users and beginners learn how to incorporate them into their work. The roster of speakers from Wolfram Research includes Dr. Paritosh Mokhasi, technical services, and Sonali DeSouza, international training executive.

Each location will also feature free hands-on Mathematica 7 training, so attendees can discover the breadth of Mathematica 7's capabilities up close.
