Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is considering slapping Bharti Airtel with a legal notice on charges of unauthorised use of his photo and voice which amounts to a violation of copyright.

The telco maintains however, that it had sought permission from Bachchan's representative.

Bachchan writes in his blog that Airtel would receive a notice, "for their blatant misuse of my face (photograph) and the announcement of a facility that they had advertised on television."

The matter involves a recent plan launched by Airtel, which promises the telco's users an opportunity to talk to Bachchan, known popularly as the 'Big B.'

According to the telco, it was open to discussing the issue with him, in keeping with the company tagline ''baat karne se hi baat banti hai'' (''matter get resolved when we talk'').

Apologising for causing hurt, Airtel said there seemed to be some misunderstanding due to some miscommunication on the part of Inside India, which represents Bachchan for all rights concerning his voice on the mobile platform.
