Chauhan's departure leads to top level changes at Rediffusion Group

Rediffusion Y&R has gone in for some management changes following the resignation of Mahesh Chauhan as the group chief executive officer. Chauhan is currently serving his notice period at the agency.

D Rajappa, president, Everest Brand Solutions, has been brought in to head operations at Rediffusion Y&R as president.

Rajappa's role at Rediffusion's sister arm Everest will in turn be handled by Dhunji Wadia, who has been roped in as the president of the agency. Wadia had quit JWT in May 2010 as senior vice-president and managing partner.

Chauhan was appointed the group CEO at Rediffusion in August, 2008, before which he was the president at the agency for two years. He had moved to Rediffusion from Everest after a four-year stint. 

An IIT Mumbai graduate, he started his career with Ogilvy & Mather and spent six years at the agency in two separate stints.

Rajappa had joined Rediffusion Y&R in 1994 and was appointed the CEO, Rediffusion -Y&R, Sri Lanka in 2003. He then moved to Everest Brand Solutions as president in 2006.

He has 18 years of experience in the advertising industry and had started his career with McCann Erickson, followed by Interact Vision before joining Rediffusion.

Wadia, with 25 years of industry experience, was appointed the managing partner of JWT Mumbai in 2008. He has worked on brands like Nike, Unilever, Diamond Trading Co, Kellogg, Standard Chartered among others.
