General motors India rejigs senior team

General motors India has announced senior level promotions at the organisation.

Sumit Sawhney, erstwhile director, sales has been promoted to vice president, marketing, sales and after-sales replacing Ankush Arora, who has been promoted and assigned to Korea, as vice president, sales, service and marketing at General Motors Daewoo Auto and Technology (GMDAT).  

Gaurav Gupta, director, marketing, who has been promoted to business head, commercial vehicle operations and strategic business development.

Sawhney and Gupta will report to Karl Slym, president and managing director, GM India.

Arora replaces Rick LaBelle, who is heading back to US, and will report to the president, GMDAT.

Sawhney will be responsible for sales, servicing and marketing operations of GM in India, developing the brand and strengthening the dealer network in the country.
