McCann Delhi ropes in Jitender Dabas as planning head

McCann Erickson Delhi has brought on board Jitender Dabas as head of its planning function. Dabas joins from JWT Delhi, where he was the executive planning director and vice-president.

He takes over from Sandip Mahapatra, who will now head the integrated planning for McCann Worldgroup.

Dabas has 14 years of experience in the advertising and communication industry. He started his career as an account management executive with FCB Ulka, moving on to strategic planning at Grey and then joined JWT Delhi. Dabas was with JWT for the past five years.

He has handled various accounts including Compaq Presario, Hyundai Motors, SBI, Aviva and GE Money. He has also handled key brands such as Hero Honda, Nokia, Pepsi Foods, Sony and Indian National Congress.

An IIT Delhi alumnus, Dabas was rated as one of top 5 brand pioneers from the global JWT network in 2010. He also garnered WPP's Atticus award for original thinking in marketing and communication.
