Mercer appoints Preeti Chandrashekhar to head benefits practice in India

Preeti ChandrashekharMercer India has named Preeti Chandrashekhar as the India business leader for benefits. She joins Mercer from Willis Towers Watson where she was consulting leader for employee benefits for South India and Sri Lanka, where she  was awarded the Asia Pacific Award.

Chandrashekhar brings with her expertise in global benefits harmonisation and management, trust governance and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and actuarial services.

She holds a M.Sc. and M.Phil. in statistics from University of Delhi and is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India.

Anish Sarkar, country leader, Mercer India,  said benefits "is an important domain for Mercer across our retirement and health lines of business, and I am looking forward to Preeti focusing on expanding our footprint in the market by bring more of Mercer's innovative solutions to our clients here.''

According to Chandrashekhar, ''India offers an array of opportunities for companies to enhance their employee benefits structures and it will be my endeavour to grow Mercer's advisory services in this emerging space.''
