Microsoft exec Chris Chandler joins mobile entertainment firm mig33

Mumbai: Former Microsoft executive Chris Chandler has joined mobile entertainment and social community mig33, as vice president, business development. 

Chandler joins mig33 from Microsoft Corporation's consumer and online division, and will spearhead mig33's expansion across mobile-first markets worldwide, including India, South Africa and Indonesia.

Chandler brings a decade of experience in developing, marketing and distributing consumer services and content for both web and mobile platforms. 

At Microsoft, Chandler drove the sales and marketing of consumer products including Windows, Windows Phone, MSN, Windows Live, and Bing, and managed the services portfolio across Southeast Asia including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Chandler has also worked with Yahoo! as head of mobile products and co-developed the Asia-Paci?c region's ?rst business plan and developed the product strategy and roadmap for the newly formed business unit across China, India, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.  He also served as director of operations at Mikoshi (Asia-Paci?c) PTE LTD, a boutique gaming developer and studio that produces multiplayer Java and SMS games for mobile phones.

Mobile-first community mig33, which last fall launched a popular Android version of its community, reported more than 30 million mobile transactions in 2010.
