N Ramchandran to quit as Morgan Stanley's India CEO

Narayan Ramachandran has put in his paper as the India head of of US investment banking giant Morgan Stanley.

Till the appointment of a replacement, Scott Gaynor, CEO, Morgan Stanley for Asia, will take charge. 

Morgan Stanley said in a statement that Ramachandran will remain as a senior adviser to the bank. It said that Ramachandran is stepping back from a full-time role to pursue personal interests in entrepreneurship and public service.

Business Week reported that Ramachandran would work with NGOs to influence public policy in to ensure financial services are made available to more people.

Ramachandran joined Morgan Stanley in 1996 and held various senior global positions within Morgan Stanley Investment Management, including heading its global emerging markets and asset allocation businesses.
