Philips appoints Rajeev Chopra

Philips Electronics India Limited has appointed Rajeev Chopra as head – lighting sector. In his second stint at Philips India, Rajeev will be responsible for the overall commercial performance of Philips Lighting business in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Prior to this, he was CEO- Asia Pacific for the Philips Lighting Luminaires Business Unit, based in Shanghai, China. He has almost 20 years of work experience across India and the Asia-Pacific region, and has also held senior leadership positions in the IT industry with market leaders such as Cisco Systems, Microsoft, and Hewlett-Packard.

Chopra's key focus will be to further strengthen Philips' position in both consumer and professional lighting in India, while driving the adoption of new lighting technologies such as LEDs, aimed at dynamic lighting and energy efficiency.
