PRS Oberoi named ‘2010 Corporate Hotelier of the World’

PRS. Oberoi, chairman and CEO, EIH Limited, the operator of the of The Oberoi Group oh hotels, has been conferred the '2010 corporate hotelier of the world'. 

Oberoi, the surviving son of the legendary Rai Bahadur Oberoi, who founded the hotels group, received the award at a reception held at the New York Palace in New York on 15th November 2010. 

Now in its 29th year, the annual 'Hotelier of the World' award is determined by votes cast by readers of Hotels magazine in more than 150 countries. 

The cover story of the November edition of magazine credits Oberoi for the growth of the company "into one of the world's most prestigious luxury hotel groups". 

It credits Oberoi with placing The Oberoi hotels on the international luxury travellers' map with the opening of several new luxury hotels in Mauritius, Indonesia, Egypt and hotels in India at important tourist destinations such as Jaipur, Agra, Udaipur, Ranthambhore and Mashobra in the Himalayas. 

It said that Oberoi had directed the development of these hotels breaking ground in new destinations and redefining architectural and design standards in luxury hospitality.

Recently, The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambhore, was ranked the best hotel in the world in Travel + Leisure magazine's 2010 World's Best Awards readers' poll, with The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra; The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur and The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipurk being ranked the second, third and fourth in Asia. Globally, these fourt hotels were ranked first, fifth, 13th and 15th respectively.
