Raj Kurup appointed on London International Awards jury

Sajan Raj Kurup, chairman and chief creative officer, Creativeland Asia, has been appointed on the jury panel of London International Awards (LIA) 2008.

Kurup is one of the three Indian ad men on the jury to judge the 'integrated media and television and cinema' category of the LIA 2008.

The other two Indians on the panel are from Leo Burnett's Santosh Padhi, executive creative director and national head of art (India), and K V Sridhar, executive creative director. The other judges are from across the world.

Speaking on his appointment to the jury and the judging process, Kurup said, "I've just got back after judging a whole lot of ad films from across the world. There were at least 20 entries from India and it was good fun to watch some really creative entries." The judging process took the entire day.

Since its inception in 1986, London International Awards have recognised and honoured exceptional creative work in advertising, design, and digital media and those who have created them and  given the outside world an exposutre into their outstanding concepts and craftsmanship.

The LIA, which began in 1986 with 2,600 entries from 37 countries,  receivesd 17,660 entries from 81 countries in 2007.

The awards ceremony and party will be held on 10 November. The worldwide presentation tour commences directly after the awards ceremony each year and continues for six months, making it the most extensive tour of its kind. Entries from all classifications of creative media, regardless of size of shop or geographic location are welcome.
