Amidst controversy over his agitation demanding recovery of black money, yoga guru Baba Ramdev today declared his assets, in a bid to quell rumours against his own "unaccounted" wealth.
According to Acharya Balakrishna, a close aide of Ramdev, the various institutions associated with Baba Ramdev have total assets worth around Rs426 crore.
"The total assets of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust are Rs164 crore and Rs80 lakh. Divya Yog Mandir Trust's total assets are Rs249 crore 63 lakh. The total assets of Bharat Swabhiman trust are Rs9 crore 97 lakh and that of Acharya Kulam trust are Rs1 crore 59 lakh," Balkrishna told reporters at a press conference.
He said this should put an end to the controversies being created by politicians.
Balakrishna said while the total capital of these institutions adds up to nearly Rs426 crore, the Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust has spent Rs249 crore in charity and helping people during calamities.
Balkrishna also said Baba Ramdev's trusts and the over 200 businesses - from Aastha TV to food, herbal medicine parks - run by the trusts together spend Rs361 crore annually.
