Scarecrow Communications has roped in Anindya Banerjee as executive creative director for its Delhi office. The appointment is part of the agency's plan to expand its team and operations in Delhi.

''Till now, work for our big Delhi clients like Religare Broking, Religare Health Insurance and Bharat Petroleum used to happen from Mumbai,'' said Joy Sengupta, co-founder, Scarecrow Communications.

''With Banerjee's arrival, we will be able to compete more effectively with Delhi-based agencies in new business pitches,'' added Sengupta.

Banerjee joins Scarecrow from Law & Kenneth. In a career spanning nearly 14 years, he has worked with agencies like Ogilvy, Contract and Publicis. Banerjee has worked on brands such as NIIT, Nestle, IBM, Limca, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Vodafone, Limca, Dabur Vatika, Allen Solly, LG Phones, Perfetti, Maruti, Unitech and Lotus Herbals. He is also known for his campaigns, 'Me and Meri Maggi' and the Limca relaunch campaign.

''Banerjee brings many things to the table – subversive creativity, speed of thinking, a cool head primed by experience, bounce-backability, integrity and absence of ego,'' said Raghu Bhat, founder director, Scarecrow Communications.

The agency is also relocating to a bigger office to accommodate its fast growing team in Delhi.
