Swati Piramal elected president of Assocham

Swati Piramal, director of Piramal Healthcare, has been elected president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham).

Piramal, who was senior vice- president of the industry body, replaces Sajjan Jindal.
 
Piramal is on the boards of several companies, including Piramal Life Sciences, SBI Capital Markets Ltd and Prudential ICICI Management.

Harvard-educated Piramal has also served on the prime minister's scientific advisory committee, Assocham said in a statement.

Dilip Modi, vice president of Spice Corp Ltd, will replace Piramal as the new senior vice president of Assocham.

Videocon Group promoter and Rajya Sabha member Rajkumar Dhoot has been elected the new vice president.
