Emirates order size for A380s rises to 90

Berlin: Emirates Airline, a leading Mid East carrier, has ordered 32 additional Airbus 380 super jumbo jetliners, which will be over and above the already existing order for 58 of the world's largest passenger plane.
In addition to the A380 orders placed Tuesday, Emirates has a further 143 aircraft on order, with a list value of $48 billion, though large customers such as Emirates traditionally receive large discounts.
Emirates officials say Dubai's recent financial woes haven't affected their funding.
The Mid East's largest carrier, Emirates has reported a five-fold increase in full-year net profit, to $953 million, and has said it expects double-digit growth to continue this year.
Meanwhile, Airbus said last week that it had netted deals for 67 aircraft worth a total of $15.3 billion at the ILA Berlin Air Show.
It quoted John Leahy, Chief Operating Officer, Customers, as saying: "The recessionary tide has turned, and our success at this show proves yet again the world airlines' clear preference for the superior aircraft of Airbus."
