Mumbai: Private airline, and full service provider, Kingfisher Airlines, is looking to tap destinations across the Indian sub-continent, including Pakistan and Bangladesh, as part of its proposed international operations, which may be launched by 27 August.

Merged carrier, Air Deccan, completes five years of domestic service on 26 August, which enables it to commence international operations thereafter, as per existing rules. This will allow Kingfisher to piggy back on the license and commence services on international routes.

Deccan Aviation merged with Kingfisher early on this year.

Kingfisher, meanwhile, said that apart from Karachi, Lahore and Dhaka it also had services to Colombo on its radar. Permission to fly to Karachi and Lahore, if granted, will make Kingfisher the first private Indian air-carrier to start services to Pakistan.

Outside the sub-continent, Singapore, Bangkok, Shangdon and Munich are some other proposed destinations. These plans are subject to government approval.

The launch of international services will commence with flights to New York and San Francisco from Bangalore.
